Sourdough in the Andes


Hello everyone. I just found this website. I'm interested in trying sourdough again. I was once fairly successful at baking, but never found it easy. I had quite a few failures with sourdough but I hope to find many tips on here on how to get it to work right for me in a different part of the world .

Hello anonymous,

The beginners blogs that you can access from the Home Page here is an excellent place to start.

As for working at altitude, I seem to recall reading somewhere about the differences to 'normal' baking but I just can't bring the spot or the detail to mind at the moment.  If it comes to me, I will get back to you.

In the meantime, the advice to 'just do it' is hard to go past and be prepared to learn from (and eat) your mistakes.
