- 11/2 TBS yeast ( not sourdough, someone will do it)
- 1/4 cup water (at work can't convert this recipe, busy, do the math!)
- 1/4 cup milk warm
- 1/4cup sugar
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup butter
- 3 cups flour
- egg wash 1 egg with 1 tsp water
Poppy seed filling
- 1/4 c honey
- 3/4 cup poppy seeds
- 3/4 cup almonds or hazelnuts
- 1/3 cup of milk
- 1tsp lemon zest
- 3 Tbsp. butter
You guy's don't need me to tell you how to make the dough!
combine poppyseed and nuts and grind till corn meal consistency,
heat milk and rest of ingredients until thickened like paste!
Roll out dough and fill with poppyseed mix jelly roll, ask TP how she did that special split and twist on the fruit bread she made, what a talented lady! ;)
brush the loaf with milk and top with some almonds, let rise till doubled(just, oven spring) bake at 350 F, duh celsius, I'm an ugly American remember!
bake 30 minutes!
